I added a reinforcing plate which you can see in the next shot. The windlass is so powerful it tended to 'winch' the roller backwards. BTW, I have a 12000lb shackle permanently bolted to the cranze iron. When anchored I snub the anchor chain to this shackle with 12ft of 5/8 nylon and a chain hook. This not only stops the chain grinding away at the bobstay but also significantly reduces yawing when anchored in a blow
